Mike Atwell

Mike Atwell is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in both the corporate and military sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Mutual of Omaha since January 2019, Atwell leads a team of four data scientists and focuses on solving business challenges through advanced analytics, machine learning, and collaboration with business partners. Previously, Atwell held several positions within Mutual of Omaha, including Data Scientist and Associate Data Scientist, where contributions included the development of machine learning models for insurance applications. Prior military experience includes leadership roles in the US Navy and United States Strategic Command, with responsibilities ranging from strategic analysis to personnel management. Atwell holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University, a Master of Science in Space Systems Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Business Analytics from Rockhurst University.
