Jacob Smith began their work experience in 2017 as an intern in the City of Chicago's Alderman Reilly's Office. In 2018, they interned at LKQ Corporation in the Government Affairs department. Jacob then transitioned to MxD in 2020, where they initially served as an Engagement and Programs Intern. Jacob later became an Engagement Associate, a role they held until the present.
Jacob Smith attended DePaul University from 2015 to 2019, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government.

MxD enables U.S. manufacturers to begin making every part better than the last. It is a goal far too big for any one company to solve on its own. It requires production lines to be embedded with software and sensors, and hooked up to the cloud.
