Rev Dr Wendell Anthony is a prominent leader in the fields of economic justice, social empowerment, and political advocacy. As the Founder of the Freedom Institute since April 2001, Anthony has focused on creating a think tank dedicated to these causes. In addition, Anthony serves as the President of the Detroit NAACP, having been elected to an unprecedented 9th term in 2008. Anthony founded the Fannie Lou Hamer Political Action Committee in 1990, which aims to educate and inform the community on political issues and candidates. Since 1987, Anthony has also been the Pastor at Fellowship Chapel, promoting a spiritual journey rooted in Christ-centric and African-centered beliefs. Anthony's educational background includes a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Marygrove College and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wayne State University.
