Sunita George

Sunita George is a highly experienced academic currently serving as a Professor and Associate Professor at Western Illinois University since August 2009. In addition to this role, Sunita George has been the Education Secretary for the NAACP since January 2023. Prior academic positions include serving as an Associate Professor from September 2004 to July 2009 and as an Assistant Professor from August 1999 to July 2004 at Alabama State University. Sunita George earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Geography from The University of Georgia between 1990 and 1999 and holds a post-graduate diploma in urban and regional planning from the School of Planning, Center for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) in Ahmedabad, India.
