Darko Katalinic has extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Darko started their career as an Engineering Apprentice at Marfin Management Co., Ltd in 2001 and later moved to Jadrolinija in 2002 for a similar role. In 2005, they joined Marfin Management Co., Ltd again as a Marine Engineer, where they worked until 2009. Darko then moved to Shell Trading and Shipping Company Ltd. in 2010 and served as a Marine Engineer until 2016. Currently, Darko Katalinic is working at NAKILAT as a Chief Engineer, a position they have held since 2016.

Darko Katalinic attended Marine engineering High school Dubrovnik from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a High School degree in Marine Engineering. Darko then went on to study at the University of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Dubrovnik from 2013 to 2015, earning an Associate's Degree in Marine Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Darko Katalinic has obtained various certifications throughout their career. Darko received a Chief Engineer (Unlimited) certification in August 2018. In 2016, they obtained certifications in Abrasive Wheel Mounting, Advanced liquified gas tanker operations, Advanced Fire Fighting, Basic Training, Medical First Aid, Proficiency in survival craft and rescue boats operations, The High Voltage Training Management Level, Certificate of Eligibility for Machinery enclosed space Atmosphere checks, and Certificate of Gas Detection Training.

In 2015, Darko Katalinic obtained certifications in Engine Room Resource Management, Enviromental Marine Awareness MARPOL, and Use of Leadership and Managerial skills. In 2014, they received a certification in Basic training for liquefied gas tanker cargo operations and in 2013, certifications in Seafarer with Designated Security Duties and Security Awareness.

Darko Katalinic also received specialized training, including ME MAN engines training at MAN PRIMESERV Academy Copenhagen in 2012, SIGTO - LNG training course management level in 2011, and Ship Safety Officer training from Shell Trading & Shipping Co. Ltd in 2010.
