Tony Van Oosten has over 20 years of work experience in the IT field. Tony started their career as a Computer Technician at District School Board Ontario North East in 1999. Tony then worked as a Customer Service Representative at J.S. RedPath Ltd before returning to District School Board Ontario North East as a Computer Technician.
In 2003, Tony joined Collective Minds Consulting as a Foundation Business Desk Analyst. Tony later transitioned to Iogen Corporation as an IT Support Specialist, providing technical assistance to employees.
In 2011, Tony joined Amdocs (formerly Bridgewater Systems) as a Senior Desktop Support Specialist. Tony was responsible for providing desktop support to employees.
Tony then became a Sharepoint Consultant at the Department of National Defence in 2013, where they helped reconstruct and maintain the organization's Sharepoint site. Tony also provided technical support and training to the user community.
In the same year, Tony joined Nanometrics Inc as an IT Network & Systems Administrator. Tony was later promoted to the role of Senior Information Technology Specialist. At Nanometrics, Tony was responsible for network and server administration, IT security, data recovery, and backup systems. Tony also automated monitoring and maintenance of servers and network and managed external IT contractors and cloud service providers.
Throughout their career, Tony has demonstrated expertise in IT infrastructure management, systems administration, help desk support, and cloud migration. Tony has a strong track record of implementing cost-effective technology solutions to support organizational goals.
Tony Van Oosten completed their education at Canadore College from 1998 to 2001, earning a Diploma in Computer Programmer/Analyst. Prior to that, they attended Englehart High School from 1993 to 1998, obtaining an OAC Diploma. In addition to their formal education, Tony has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Tony completed a course on Cybersecurity at Work from LinkedIn in April 2022. In 2008, they received an ITIL V3 Foundation certification from Itplanit Services Corp. Tony also obtained certifications in A+ Hardware and A+ OS from CompTIA in August 2003.
