Matthew Eccles has extensive experience in the legal field, primarily focusing on intellectual property and licensing transactions in the music, media, and technology industries. Matthew began their career as a solicitor at Dentons from September 1998 to January 2001. Matthew then worked as a solicitor at Townleys from 2001 to 2003, followed by a role as a legal counsel at T-Mobile International from 2003 to 2005. Eccles then joined RealNetworks, Inc. in February 2008 as VP and Deputy General Counsel, where they stayed until October 2014. During their time at RealNetworks, Eccles also served as SVP & General Counsel at Napster from October 2014 to 2016.
Matthew Eccles attended the University of St Andrews from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Economics. Matthew then attended Nottingham Law School from 1996 to 1998, completing a Post Grad Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course.
