Carissa Cook, MBA, has a diverse work experience with a focus on benefits, wellness, and human resources. Carissa started their career at Walgreens in 2007 as an Assistant Manager, where they supervised daily activities, managed inventory, and strategized for organizational goals. In 2015, they joined NASCAR as a Specialist in the Benefits department, providing customer service and administration support. Over the years, Carissa progressed through various managerial roles in Benefits & Wellness, culminating in their current position as the Senior Manager. In addition to their work in Benefits & Wellness, Carissa is also the Communications Lead for The Belnavis Collective at NASCAR, which addresses cultural issues impacting the Black community within the motorsports industry. Carissa is dedicated to professional development, mentorship, promoting diversity and inclusivity, facilitating conversations about race, and engaging in community outreach.
Carissa Cook, MBA holds a Master's degree in Human Resources Management/Personnel Administration, General from Capella University, which they completed between 2011 and 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Bethune-Cookman University, where they studied from 2003 to 2007. In addition to their academic achievements, Carissa Cook has obtained certifications in Adult Mental Health First Aid USA from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing in May 2023, and Workplace Mental Health Ally from Psych Hub in 2023.
