Leah Smith

Leah Smith has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Leah currently works at Nassau Financial Group as an Associate Counsel, having started in March 2023. Prior to this role, they were a Legal Associate at the same company from August 2022 to March 2023. Leah also served as a Summer Associate at Nassau Financial Group from June 2022 to August 2022.

Before joining Nassau Financial Group, Leah had an internship at Pineapple from February 2022 to May 2022.

Leah's educational background includes working as a Research Assistant at the University of Connecticut School of Law from September 2021 to May 2022. During this time, they co-authored an article on insurance law and assisted a UConn Law Professor with research and writing.

Additionally, Leah gained experience as a Legal Extern at The Hartford from June 2021 to August 2021 and as a Law Clerk at Travelers from June 2020 to May 2021.

Leah Smith has a diverse and accomplished education history. Leah completed their Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Philosophy from McGill University from 2015 to 2019. Following their undergraduate studies, Leah pursued postgraduate education at the University of Connecticut. From 2019 to 2022, they attended the University of Connecticut School of Law, where they obtained their Juris Doctor degree in Law. Alongside their law degree, Leah also pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of Connecticut School of Business from 2020 to 2022, with a focus on Business.

In addition to their formal education, Leah has obtained two certifications. In March 2020, they received the Lexis Advance Practice-Ready Certification from LexisNexis. The following month, in February 2020, Leah obtained the Advanced Legal Research certification from Thomson Reuters.
