Katie Weeks has a diverse work experience in the field of environmental education and conservation. Katie has held various roles at different organizations, starting with their work as a Team Member in the Hawaii Youth Conservation Corp, where they participated in various conservation projects. Katie then worked as a Community Education Programs Intern at the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology and as an Education/Interpretation Intern at the Kellogg Bird Sanctuary.
Afterwards, Katie worked as the President of EnvOrg, a student environmental organization, where they organized events and campaigns to promote environmental awareness and sustainability. Katie also held positions at Kalamazoo College, including Facilities Reservations Student Employee and Sustainability Intern.

Katie's work in environmental education continued at the Museum of Life and Science, where they initially served as a Summer Camp Site Director before being promoted to Program Manager. Katie managed the Science Summer Camp program, including curriculum development, staff management, and program execution.
Most recently, Katie worked at the National Audubon Society as an Educator, where they led a team based in Santa Fe and Phoenix focused on community education and outreach. Katie also served as the Education Manager, overseeing education programs and managing Audubon NM's social media portfolio.

Katie Weeks has a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, which they completed from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Environmental Studies from Kalamazoo College from 2007 to 2011. During their undergraduate studies, they also spent a year at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in 2009-2010, where they focused on Ecology.
Before their university education, Katie attended Punahou School and obtained a High School Diploma from 2001 to 2007.
Additionally, Katie has acquired various certifications. Katie obtained a First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross in January 2019, a Wilderness/Remote Location First Aid certification from NOLS Wilderness Medicine in October 2017, and a Team Leader Certificate Program from CAI- Capital Associated Industries in January 2017. Katie also holds a North Carolina Environmental Education Certification from the NC DENR- Office of Environmental Education and Public Affairs, obtained in January 2014. Prior to their formal education, Katie obtained a Wilderness First Responder certification from Wilderness Medical Associates in June 2011.
