In order to meet the banking needs of the residents and businesses located in the area, NBT opened for business in November of 1973 in the North Side of Fort Worth. Ownership of the bank has remained essentially unchanged since 1985 when the bank's directors and senior officers organized Horizon Bankshares, Inc. 

The National Bank of Texas has maintained the same long-term vision. We are a locally owned, independent, community bank that understands the needs of the area and communities we serve. We provide prompt, courteous service, and always strive to establish long-term relationships with our customers.

With directors that are all area residents and a staff of experienced local bankers, we are able to not only know our customers but also serve our communities through various civic, educational and business organizations.

We continue serve the North Side of Fort Worth from our original location, but have also added locations in Hurst, Burleson and Azle. Bringing the areas a "hometown" banking experience from "hometown" bankers.
