Adam Nelson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in democracy support and international development. Currently serving as Senior Program Director for the Asia-Pacific at the National Democratic Institute since October 2015, Adam leads a team of 15 in initiatives to strengthen democracy in East Asia and the Pacific. Prior roles include Director of Global Partnerships and Business Development at the American Alliance of Museums, Executive Director at The Yeh Family Philanthropy, Resident Program Officer for China at the International Republican Institute, Senior Account Executive for Asia-Pacific Corporate Strategy at Edelman Public Relations, and Assistant Program Officer at the Solidarity Center. Adam holds multiple advanced degrees including an MBA in Entrepreneurship, impact investing, and sustainability from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and an MA in Asian Studies from The George Washington University, as well as a BA in International Relations and China Studies from Juniata College.
