Sean Nations

Sean Nations is currently serving as an ORISE Post-Doctoral Researcher at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, focusing on optimizing a computational pipeline for modeling organometallic complexes aimed at selective critical mineral recovery. Prior experience includes a PhD candidacy at Louisiana Tech University, where research centered on the properties of perovskites for photovoltaic and sensing applications through density functional theory calculations. Sean Nations has also held internships at the National Energy Technology Laboratory, where tasks included creating databases and optimizing machine learning schemes for metal hydrides and investigating the electronic properties of perovskites. Educational qualifications consist of a Doctor of Philosophy in Micro/Nanoscale Engineering, a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
