Larry Downes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Larry currently holds the position of Director of Marketing and Communications at the National FFA Organization, a national youth organization focused on agricultural education. Prior to this role, they served as the Marketing and Communications Manager and Manager of Digital Marketing at the same organization.
Before joining the National FFA Organization, Larry was a Founding Partner at NextGen Media And Marketing, LLC, where they specialized in creating and optimizing online marketing and advertising campaigns for local businesses.
Larry also has experience in the radio industry, having worked at Emmis Radio Indianapolis as the Director of the Emmis Marketing Group, at Regent Broadcasting Management as the Vice President of Technology and Digital Media, and at Saga Communications, Inc. as the Director of Interactive Media. Larry played a key role in implementing various internet initiatives and developing effective online marketing strategies during their time in these companies.
Larry began their career in the radio industry at Susquehanna Radio Indianapolis as the Director of New Media. During their 17 years there, they managed the development and execution of innovative online marketing strategies for radio stations and clients.
Before entering the radio industry, Larry worked as a Morning Drive Personality at KRST Radio.
Larry Downes attended the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology from 1982 to 1986, where they studied Geological Engineering. In 2019, they enrolled in the altMBA program, specifically the Ruby Cohort, at altMBA. Additionally, in 2008, they obtained the RAB CDMC certification for Certified Digital Marketing Consultant from the Radio Advertising Bureau. In 2015, they obtained the Inbound Certification from HubSpot.
