Hydrogen Innovation Engineer at National Gas

Matthew Hammond is an experienced Hydrogen Innovation Engineer at National Gas Transmission since December 2022, focusing on repurposing National Transmission System assets for hydrogen applications through risk mitigation projects. Prior experience includes serving as a Technical Sales Engineer at EffecTech from August 2016 to December 2022, where responsibilities encompassed managing overseas agents, representing the company at various events, and conducting research on gas metrology, including LNG, LPG, and hydrogen. Matthew also held a position as a PhD Researcher, completing a thesis on improving methods for liquefied natural gas production, measurement, and use, and began a career as a Student Research Chemist at High Force Research Ltd, where innovative methods for synthesizing nanoparticles were explored. Matthew holds a PhD in Chemistry from Loughborough University and a Master's degree in Chemistry from Durham University.
