Shane Weckesser

Shane Weckesser is a seasoned professional in audiovisual production with extensive experience in managing live events and production teams. Currently serving as the Manager of Live Event Production at National Geographic since January 2020, Shane previously held the role of Audiovisual Production Specialist at The Washington Post, where oversight of over 100 live events per year was a key responsibility. Prior experience includes working as an Audiovisual Specialist for the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, managing the operation of integrated conference rooms, and serving as an Audiovisual Technician for the Department of Defense. Shane's career began in freelance concert and event production, contributing to major events with large audiences. Education includes a Bachelor of Science in Music Business from Middle Tennessee State University and an Associate of Science in Audio Recording Technology from Finger Lakes Community College.
