Dwight Smith serves as the Director of The Maritime Safety Office at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency since October 2020, overseeing 400 personnel and an $80 million operating budget to deliver global maritime navigation products and services. Previously, Dwight held the role of Director of the Office of Space Operations and Integration, where leadership was provided for NGA's inaugural office focused on Space operational missions across various functional areas. Dwight's extensive military background includes roles such as NGA Navy Element Executive Officer and METOC/Foundation GEOINT Division Chief, Commanding Officer, and METOC Officer, among others. Dwight holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Naval Academy and multiple master's degrees in Physical Oceanography, Meteorology, and Engineering Management from the Naval Postgraduate School and The Catholic University of America.
