Tanya N. Blocker

Tanya N. Blocker is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in employment and labor law, as well as privacy and cybersecurity. Currently serving as Assistant General Counsel at National Grid since March 2020, Blocker oversees US and UK management in these areas. Previous roles include Senior In-House Counsel at Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani, LLP, where litigation experience encompassed management-side employment matters, and positions at the New York City Law Department, including Senior Counsel and Special Assistant Corporation Counsel. Blocker has held leadership roles such as President of the Association of Black Women Attorneys and Co-Chair of the Labor & Employment Section at the Metropolitan Black Bar Association. Academically, Blocker holds a Juris Doctor from St. John's University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from John Jay College (CUNY).
