William Alley

William Alley is an accomplished author and expert in groundwater and environmental science with extensive experience in both academia and professional organizations. Since January 2013, William has been self-employed, co-authoring significant works such as "The War on the EPA," "High and Dry: The World’s Growing Dependence on Groundwater," and "Too Hot to Touch: The Problem of High-Level Nuclear Waste." William serves as the Director of Science and Technology at the National Ground Water Association since November 2012 and previously held the position of Chief of the Office of Groundwater at the U.S. Geological Survey from 1993 to 2011. William holds a Ph.D. in Geography and Environmental Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, a Master’s in Hydrogeology from Stanford University, and a Bachelor’s in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines.
