Kevin Lomasney serves as the Bioprocessing Training Team Lead at the NIBRT National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training since February 2017, overseeing a team of trainers and managing client relationships while contributing to the overall management of NIBRT. Lomasney has extensive experience in bioprocessing training, having previously held roles as a Senior Bioprocessing Trainer and Bioprocessing Trainer at NIBRT. In addition to responsibilities at NIBRT, Lomasney is a lecturer at University College Cork, Atlantic Technological University, and the Institute of Technology, Sligo, extending expertise to various bioprocessing modules. Academic qualifications include a Doctorate in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from University College Cork, a Graduate Certificate in Biopharmaceutical Engineering from University College Dublin, and an MSc in Education and Training Management focusing on eLearning from Dublin City University. Prior research experience includes roles at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, Universidad de Chile, and Marigot Ltd., contributing to investigations of intestinal microbiome interactions and biopharmaceutical processes.

The National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) is a global centre of excellence for training and research in bioprocessing. NIBRT is located in a new, world class facility in Dublin, Ireland. This facility is purpose built to closely replicate a modern bioprocessing plant with state of the art equipment. NIBRT is based on an innovative collaboration between University College Dublin, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin City University and the Institute of Technology, Sligo.
