Ed Nelson, Ph.D. currently serves as the Associate Dean for Administration and Chief of Staff at Virginia Tech's College of Engineering. Ed is responsible for overseeing all financial and operational affairs within the college and ensures that new initiatives are implemented and policy matters are addressed. Prior to this, Ed held various engineering positions at companies such as the National Institute of Aerospace, VATELL CORPORATION, Defense Group Inc., NASA Ames Research Center, LORD Corporation, and Hercules Powder Company. Dr. Nelson earned their Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctor's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Tech.
