National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE) is an autonomous institution of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India. A dynamic institute dedicated to pioneering advancements in solar energy. The mandate of NISE is to drive the nation towards self-reliance in renewable power generation while navigating the challenges inherent in the implementation of the Green Energy Transition in the country.

Within our campus, you’ll find solar PV module state-of-the-art testing labs (both indoor and outdoor), solar cell characterization lab, solar radiometer calibration lab, solar radiation resource assessment station, solar thermal testing and product development lab, System lab (covering inverters, batteries, lightning, and solar pumping), and even a cutting-edge computational and analytics lab.
