Judith Mitrani-Reiser is a Senior Research Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where Judith has served since September 2016, holding the titles of Associate Chief of the Materials and Structural Systems Division and Director of Disaster and Failure Studies. Prior to NIST, Mitrani-Reiser was an Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering and Emergency Medicine at The Johns Hopkins University from 2010 to June 2018. Judith earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Mechanics from Caltech (2002-2007), a Master of Science (MS) in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley (2000-2002), and a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil and Coastal Engineering from the University of Florida (1996-2000).
