Martin Herman has extensive experience in the field of forensics and information technology, currently serving as the NIST/ITL Senior Advisor for Forensics and IT at the National Institute of Standards and Technology since 1986. Martin has held several notable positions at NIST, including Chief of the Information Access Division and Group Leader of the Perception Systems Group. Prior to their tenure at NIST, Martin was a Research Associate in the Computer Science Department at Carnegie Mellon University from 1980 to 1985. Martin holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a BS in Physics from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Martin is also an alumni of Brooklyn Technical High School.
