Zeid Kootbally

Zeid Kootbally is a Computer Scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) since April 2023, with extensive experience in academia as a Senior Research Associate at the University of Southern California since August 2016 and a Lecturer at the University of Maryland since January 2018, focusing on Python applications for robotics and introductory robot programming. Previous roles include Assistant Research Scientist at the University of Maryland from May 2011 to May 2016, where research targeted advancements in robotic planning for kitting and assembly, and Guest Researcher at NIST from March 2005 to March 2010, contributing to the development of the PRIDE system for moving object prediction. Zeid Kootbally earned a Ph.D. in Informatique, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, from Université de Bourgogne, as well as Master’s degrees in Informatique and related fields from the same institution and from Université de la Réunion.
