Dr. Gaurav Bansal is a scientist in the Materials Engineering Division at the National Metallurgical Laboratory since August 2014, specializing in the research and development of advanced high strength steels, including Q&P steels and Bainitic steels, as well as exploring high entropy alloys and additive manufacturing techniques for stainless steel. Previous roles include serving as a Project Assistant and Trainee Scientist at the same laboratory, where significant contributions included involvement in medium Mn and Q&P steel development and holding the position of principal investigator for three Indian patents focused on low alloy abrasion-resistant steel. Prior to this, Dr. Bansal worked as a Junior Manager at JSW Steel Ltd, fostering technical collaboration with JFE Steel Corporation, and completed industrial training at Steel Authority of India Limited. Dr. Bansal holds a Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, a Master of Technology in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Metallurgical Engineering.
