Betsy Nicholson

Betsy Nicholson has an extensive career in environmental management and coastal policy, currently serving as the North Regional Director for the NOAA Office for Coastal Management since February 2000. Previous roles at NOAA include Northeast Regional Lead and Policy Advisor to the Department of Commerce Secretary. Betsy began her career as a Park Ranger with the National Park Service and later held positions with organizations such as the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, New England Aquarium, and Environmental Defense Fund. Betsy holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management with a focus on Coastal Environmental Management from Duke University and a Bachelor of Arts degree, Cum Laude, in Art History and Environmental Studies from Williams College.
