John Horne, PhD, currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Biology at Imperial Valley College while also working as a Senior Research Associate at NOAA, focusing on conservation genomics of endangered marine species. Previous roles include postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Southern Mississippi, Dalhousie University, and the Center of Marine Sciences at the University of Algarve, where John specialized in fisheries and aquaculture genomics, as well as phylogeography. Early research experience includes a position as a research scientist at the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation and a technician role at Myriad Genetics, involved in genome sequencing projects.
