Sophie Lorenz currently serves as Head of Events (Maternity Cover) at the National Portrait Gallery since March 2024. Prior to this role, Sophie spent six years at the Natural History Museum, progressing from Special Events Coordinator to Senior Special Events Manager. Sophie's earlier experience includes serving as Creative Director of Events and Design at Le Rouge De La Vie, where responsibilities included launching and managing the events department, as well as developing a distinct brand identity for The London Event Planners. Additional roles include Event Planner at The London Event Planners, and various positions at Urban Food Fest and Hatfield College, Durham University, where Sophie was instrumental in planning significant events. Sophie holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Combined Honours in Philosophy and Theology from Durham University.
