Barry Mather is an experienced leader in the field of electrical engineering with a focus on renewable energy systems. Currently serving as Group Manager for Integrated Devices and Systems at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory since March 2010, Barry oversees a team of approximately 20 specialists working on power electronics, energy storage, microgrid interfaces, and standards development. Previous roles include Solar Program Systems Integration Lead and Senior Electrical Engineer at NREL, where Barry addressed challenges related to high-penetration photovoltaic solar power. Barry has held various leadership positions within the IEEE Power Electronics Society and has also contributed to academia as an adjunct instructor at the Colorado School of Mines. Educational credentials comprise a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, along with additional degrees from the University of Wyoming.
