Hannes Labuschagne

Hannes Labuschagne is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, specializing in electric machine modeling at the National Wind Technology Center since July 2022. Prior experience includes an internship at Siemens Mobility, focusing on alternative permanent magnet electric motor technology for railway traction applications in March to September 2020. Hannes obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering with a focus on Electrical Machines and Drives from Stellenbosch University between January 2017 and May 2022. Additional academic experience includes a Ph.D. research exchange at Technische Hochschule Nürnberg Georg Simon Ohm in 2020 and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stellenbosch University from 2013 to 2016. Hannes completed secondary education at Cradock High School, earning a National Senior Certificate in 2012.
