Piper Welch

NSF Graduate Research Fellow at National Science Foundation

Piper Welch is currently serving as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow at the National Science Foundation since August 2023 and as a Research Assistant in Dr. Josh Bongard's Morphology, Evolution, and Cognition lab at the University of Vermont since August 2022. Previous experience includes roles as a Prefect and Undergraduate Researcher at Carleton College, where involvement in Symbulab and the Studio for Computational Media Archaeology occurred, as well as serving as a Teaching Assistant in the CS Department. Piper also completed a Computer Vision Externship with the California Department of Water Resources in late 2020 and worked as a Quality Control Inspector at Areias Systems, Inc. from May to September 2017. Currently pursuing a PhD in Computer Science at the University of Vermont after obtaining a degree in Computer Science and Biochemistry from Carleton College.
