Evan Derickson

Evan Derickson is a Technical Director at National Zoning Atlas, contributing to the development and maintenance of zoning data since January 2025. Previously, Evan held multiple roles at Cornell University, including Deputy Geospatial Coordinator and Senior Geospatial Analyst, enhancing geospatial initiatives from January 2023 to December 2024. With a strong foundation in GIS, Evan led the development of the open-source vector attribute analysis tool Chameleon during tenure at Kaart, where skills in Python, QGIS, and project management were honed. Earlier experiences include positions at major companies such as Apple and Alphabet Inc., focused on geographic data analysis, with an initial background in education and web development. Evan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Western Washington University.
