Monica Tanaka possesses extensive experience in regional and EU policy management, currently serving as the Secretary of the Deputies Committee and Head of Committees' Secretariat at NATO since April 2020. Prior to NATO, Tanaka held the position of Senior Expert on EU Regional Policy with Region Midtjylland from September 2016 to April 2020, and was a Programme Manager for EU policies at the European Commission from September 2011 to August 2016. Additional experience includes leading a unit at Interreg North West Europe from December 2001 to September 2011 and working as a Project Officer at Essex County Council from July 2000 to December 2001. Tanaka holds a Master's degree in Social Sciences from The University of Manchester and a Graduate Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Amsterdam.
