David Pauley is an experienced procurement specialist with a strong background in managing significant government supply contracts. Currently serving as a Senior Procurement Specialist at the Earthquake Commission since November 2019, David previously held positions as a Procurement Specialist at the Canterbury District Health Board and as a Senior Procurement Specialist at the Ministry of Business Innovation & Employment, where responsibilities included overseeing All-of-Government contracts for air travel and fleet vehicles. Prior to these roles, David worked in account management at Tandem Travel and American Express Global Business Travel, focusing on travel management services for both public and corporate sectors. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Canterbury and a Graduate Diploma in Meeting and Event Planning from CPIT.

The Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tu Ake is New Zealand’s unique response to its geological environment. NHC Toka Tū Ake provides insurance cover for damage to residential property caused by earthquakes, landslips, volcanic eruptions, hydrothermal activity and tsunamis. All New Zealanders with home and/or contents insurance automatically receive NHCover. Other key functions include: Administering the Natural Disaster Fund, facilitating and supporting research to help build understanding of natural disasters and how to mitigate damage, and implementing education initiatives using school programmes, advertising and collateral.
