Currently serving as an Accounting Contractor at the Earthquake Commission (EQC) since August 2016, Mary has previously held significant positions at Public Trust, including Financial Planning & Performance Manager and SME - Business Improvement Project. Prior experience includes substantial roles at ANZ and Westpac New Zealand Limited, where responsibilities encompassed financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting. Mary began their career at Ernst & Young as a Client Advisor, providing accounting and taxation support. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the University of Otago.

The Natural Hazards Commission Toka Tu Ake is New Zealand’s unique response to its geological environment. NHC Toka Tū Ake provides insurance cover for damage to residential property caused by earthquakes, landslips, volcanic eruptions, hydrothermal activity and tsunamis. All New Zealanders with home and/or contents insurance automatically receive NHCover. Other key functions include: Administering the Natural Disaster Fund, facilitating and supporting research to help build understanding of natural disasters and how to mitigate damage, and implementing education initiatives using school programmes, advertising and collateral.
