Ed Yoon

Chief External Affairs Officer at Natural Resources Defense Council

Ed Yoon is a principal architect of the “Power and Voice” direction within NRDC’s new strategic plan, which aims to “elevate the priority of environmental progress for citizens and politicians alike, creating the desire and will to systematically and aggressively advance climate and environmental policy.” In directing the Center for Policy Advocacy and overseeing the 501(c)(4) NRDC Action Fund, Yoon leads teams of advocates and campaigners to achieve this mission through U.S. federal, state, and local campaigns, government affairs, and strategic partnerships. After joining NRDC in 2013 as CPA’s associate director, he then served as deputy director until 2017. Yoon has held numerous leadership roles on institutional priority projects, putting to use his experience running political and issue campaigns for more than a decade prior to joining NRDC. Yoon holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from University of California, Los Angeles and is based in the Washington, D.C. office.
