James Bellingham

James Bellingham serves as the Executive Director of the Institute for Assured Autonomy at The Johns Hopkins University since May 2021. Concurrently, Bellingham holds positions as a Director on the Board of Directors for Nauticus Robotics, Inc., and as a member of the Board of Directors for Innovasea and the Advisory Board for ThayerMahan Inc. Additional roles include membership in the National Academy of Engineering, participation on the Science Advisory Board for AAAS and the Institute for Marine Research, Bergen, and previous involvement with the Naval Studies Board at the National Academy of Sciences. Bellingham previously directed the Center for Marine Robotics at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and has an extensive educational background with a Ph.D. and master's degrees in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
