Director Of Submarine Safety (sea07q) at Naval Sea Systems Command

Peter Norgaard currently serves as the Director of Submarine Safety at the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) since September 2023. Previously, as the Repair Officer at Trident Refit Facility Bangor from July 2021 to August 2023, Norgaard led a department responsible for the maintenance and modernization of TRIDENT submarines. Norgaard has held various roles, including Deputy Project Superintendent at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and Deputy Principal Assistant Program Manager for Submarine Electronic Warfare Systems. Norgaard's early career included significant positions at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and aboard USS Maine. Norgaard holds a Master of Science in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Science in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from USMMA, along with additional qualifications in production, quality, and program management.
