Richard Lu currently serves as a System Engineering Manager at Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) since April 2015, having previously held positions as an Engineer within the same organization. Prior to NAVSEA, Richard worked at CSC as a System Engineer and briefly as a Tutor at Sure Prep Learning, focusing on K-12 student development in reading and math. Richard’s career began at Baxter International Inc. as a Quality Analyst, followed by an internship at Luxfer Gas Cylinders where Lean Six Sigma methodologies were applied to manufacturing processes. Academic contributions include research in battery technology at David Kisailus Lab and project management with Engineers Without Borders. Richard holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside.
