Nick Clerkin

Nick Clerkin is an experienced economist currently working at the North Carolina General Assembly since July 2019, responsible for forecasting state tax, nontax, and transportation revenues while coordinating the consensus forecasting process with the Office of State Budget and Management. Previously, Nick served as a VP and Senior Insights Analyst at First Citizens Bank, where key contributions included the implementation of bankwide policies that enhanced revenues and employed advanced analytical methods for policy recommendations. Prior roles at Guaranty Bank and as a tutor at Marquette University further established expertise in statistical analysis and economics. Nick holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Economics and an Honors Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Economics, demonstrating a strong academic foundation in the field.
