Noel Candelaria

Noel Candelaria serves as Secretary-Treasurer at NEA, and is also a member of the Commission on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity for Hispanics at the U.S. Department of Education. In addition, Noel is a Member of the Board of Directors at CAEP, Treasurer Board Of Directors at The National Teachers Hall of Fame, and a Board Member at NEA Member Benefits. Previously, Noel held leadership positions such as President and Vice-President at organizations like Texas State Teachers Association and Ysleta Teachers Association TSTA/NEA. With a background as a Special Education Teacher at Ysleta Independent School District, Noel received a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (BIS) in Education from The University of Texas at El Paso.
