Kiran Kumar has extensive work experience in the field of energy storage and renewable energy technologies. Kiran is currently serving as the Director of Data Science and Data Analytics at LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. Prior to this, they held the position of Director of System Engineering and Analytics at NEC Energy Solutions. In this role, they played a key role in leading and contributing to the development of energy storage software and grid controls algorithms. Kiran also has experience as a Principal Software/Firmware Engineer, leading a team in the development of real-time closed-loop energy storage controls algorithms. Before joining NEC Energy Solutions, Kiran worked as a Technical Manager at Northern Power Systems, where they were responsible for embedded/IoT-based mechatronics controls software and firmware development. Kiran also has previous experience in various companies as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Manager, where they managed teams and was involved in the design and development of industrial and automotive software products.

Kiran Kumar has a Professional Certificate in Business Leadership and Management from the University of Vermont. They also hold a Masters degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York. Additionally, Kiran has a B.S in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Mysore. They have obtained a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in May 2020.
