John Horton has been working in the mortgage industry for over 30 years. John began their career as a firefighter before moving into banking. John spent 19 years at Fifth Third Bank, where they rose to the position of Vice President of Mortgage Sales. In 2009, they left Fifth Third to join Standard Bank & Trust Co. as Senior Vice President/Residential Mortgage. John left Standard Bank in 2010 and spent a year at Mainstreet Organization of Realtors as Director of Strategic Growth. In 2011, they joined Associated Bank, where they served as V.P. Mortgage Sales-Chicago Region until 2019. John is currently Director at Neighborhood Service Organization.
John Horton's educational career includes a BS in Communications from North Central College and Nazareth Academy.

NSO’s empowering programs and services provide assistance for: older adults with mental illness, children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities, youth leadership and advocacy training, year-round workforce development for youth, young adults, and their parents, homeless recovery services, housing development, community outreach for psychiatric emergencies, call the hotline for emergency shelter and housing resources in Detroit, training, and volunteer opportunities for individuals, groups, and organizations.
