Richard Scales has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Richard began their career as a Junior Java Developer at KnowledgeView in 2000, where they provided support and ad-hoc development for a web-based publishing platform. In 2001, they worked as a Web Developer at Cobweb Solutions, where they developed and maintained websites, conducted testing, and performed database development. Richard then joined Worth Media as an Interactive Developer from 2001 to 2003.
In 2005, Richard became an E-Business Officer at Worthing Borough Council, where they served until 2010. During this time, they managed various e-business projects. Following this role, they worked as a Senior Project Manager at Public-i Group Ltd from 2010 to 2012.
Richard's most recent position is with Neilson Active Holidays, where they have held multiple roles since 2012. Richard started as a Delivery Manager, overseeing development scheduling, managing large and small-scale developments, and integrating systems. In 2020, Richard was promoted to Digital Product Owner, responsible for leading the web development team and supporting website and CRM applications. As of 2023, they hold the position of Head of Software Delivery at Neilson Active Holidays.
Richard Scales received their Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Computer Science from the University of Kent, where they studied from 1995 to 2000. In 2020, they obtained the Agile Foundations certification from LinkedIn.
