Sarah Hyde Schmiedeler has extensive experience in arts education and community engagement, currently serving as the Senior Manager for Community Programs at The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art since November 2005. Previous roles at the museum include Manager of Multigenerational Learning and Engagement, Francis Family Foundation Educator for Family Programs & Events, and Specialist in Youth and Family Programs. Sarah's earlier experience includes teaching art at both The Nelson-Atkins Museum and Denver Art Museum, as well as various educational roles during the late 1980s. Academically, Sarah Hyde Schmiedeler holds dual Master’s degrees in Education with a focus on Supervision and Administration, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Art History and Studio Art from Scripps College.
