Vicki Pickett has a diverse work experience in the field of emergency communications. Vicki has held various roles throughout their career. From 1992 to 1998, they worked as a Communications Specialist at the City of Lakewood. Vicki then gained experience as a Communications Specialist at the City of Westminster from 1998 to 2000. Following that, they served as a Communications Supervisor at the same company from 2000 to 2006. Vicki then joined the City of Arvada Police Department as a Communications Manager from 2006 to 2018. In 2009, they became a Board Member at the Colorado 911 Resource Center. In 2016, they assumed the role of NENA Institute Western Region Delegate and also started working as an Education and Training Director at NENA: The 9-1-1 Association in 2021. Additionally, from 2017 to 2021, Vicki served as an Operations Manager at the Jefferson County Communications Center Authority (Jeffcom).
Vicki Pickett holds a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership, which they obtained from Colorado State University Global between 2014 and 2016. In 2013, they completed a certificate program in Public Safety Leadership at the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business. In 2008, they obtained a certificate from the Beuchner Institute for Governance, Rocky Mountain Leadership Program at the University of Colorado at Denver, School of Public Affairs. For their undergraduate studies, they attended Colorado State University from 1988 to 1990, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in German Language and Literature. Furthermore, in 2011, they obtained an Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification from NENA. Prior to their college education, Vicki Pickett was enrolled at the University of Maryland Munich Campus between 1986 and 1988, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
