Robert (Bob) Laing is a seasoned mechanical engineer with extensive experience in rotating and static equipment across various sectors, particularly in the offshore oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Lead Mechanical Engineer at New European Offshore since April 2023, Bob directs a team managing equipment on the GPIII asset in the North Sea. Prior roles include Rotating Equipment Engineer at EnQuest and PBS by Ponticelli, as well as Reliability Engineer and Rotating Equipment Engineer at Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited, where Bob established new reliability strategies. Additional experience encompasses Project Manager at Dresser-Rand, Rotating Equipment Engineer positions at Teekay Corporation and TOTAL, alongside various engineering roles at Wood Group and Hitachi Power Africa. Bob holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering specializing in Ultra Precision Engineering from The University of Huddersfield.
