Diana Lu has five years of work experience, beginning in 2016. In 2016, they were a Systems Engineering Intern at Magna Electronics, where they ran circuit characterization testing on General Motor's Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) PCB boards, coordinated with different engineering teams to organize equipment for validation tests, and assisted with environmental validation testing of TCCM. In 2018, they were an R&D Engineering Intern at BD, where they conducted Finite Element Analysis simulations with ABAQUS program to assess syringe mechanical properties, authored a final report with findings and suggestions to support closing investigation phase, and was selected as one of four finalists in the intern poster competition to present their final project to leadership. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Research Assistant at Columbia University in the City of New York, where they assisted with developing strain gauge protocol on mice tibia as part of a larger study, conducted Finite Element Analysis with ABAQUS software on mice tibia, ran quantitative PCR tests on mice DNA, and processed mice femur and serum through centrifugation. Finally, they are currently a Mechanical Engineer at Neocis, beginning in 2022.

Diana Lu is currently enrolled in a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this, they attended Columbia University from 2015 to 2019, where they studied Biomedical Engineering and achieved a GPA of 3.55.
