Matthew Tomback is an experienced engineer and research associate with a strong background in bioengineering and ophthalmic device development. Currently serving as Research Associate II - Engineer at UIC ORBITLab, Matthew focuses on the design and prototyping of novel devices for drug delivery to the eye while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Concurrently, as an IoT Device Engineer at Colca, Matthew works on rapid prototyping of smart building sensor networks. Previous experience includes regulatory affairs at Abbott, where Matthew assisted in global submissions and compliance for pharmaceutical products. Matthew holds a Master of Science in Bioengineering from the University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Southern California.
